Russian Steelmaker NTMK Calls on Woodings for Tuyere Pullers
(Mars, PA)— Woodings Industrial and their local Russian representative have received an order for the delivery of four tuyere pullers that will be supplied to the Russian steel producer Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK). NTMK is located in the Sverdlovsk region.
In answering the customer's need for blast furnace maintenance equipment that would improve safety and efficiency, Woodings has designed, and is in the process of manufacturing four tuyere pullers that utilize a hydraulic system to hammer out (remove) and seat in (install) tuyeres.
Operating on the front of a fork truck, this automated equipment makes tuyere replacement faster and safer and minimizes the amount of down time typically associated with conventional removal practices.
Designed to operate in pairs, the tuyere pullers will be utilized at the steel producer's
No. 5 and No. 6 blast furnaces.
