WOODINGS ANSWERS NEED IN SERBIA
ONE TAPHOLE DRILL TO DO THE WORK OF TWO
(August 1, 2006) As part of a furnace rebuild project, a large steel manufacturer in Serbia has contracted with Woodings Industrial for the design, manufacture and delivery of a taphole drill for one of the steelmaker's blast furnaces.
The furnace is a two taphole furnace but the steelmaker wants only one drill. Woodings has designed a drill to effectively service both tapholes.
With the two tapholes 90 degrees apart, the Woodings drill is designed to be able to rotate to drill at both tapholes. The Woodings WFP-600 drill will be completely pneumatic to facilitate swinging, feedshell rotating, and drilling and feeding. The Woodings drill will also feature water mist drilling capability.
“This is our first work for this mill so we are very pleased to be able to effectively answer their needs. Providing innovative solutions to steelmakers around the globe is how we have built our business and we're happy to be able to continue that tradition for this customer”, said Woodings President Robert T. Woodings.
