WOODINGS AWARDED 15 VALVES FOR AMK

Woodings Industrial will supply 15 new valves for AMK’s greenfield blast furnace in the Ukraine. The equipment will include hot blast valves, back draft valves, waste gas valves and blast furnace gas valves and combustion air valves. All the valves will be designed and manufactured by Woodings. Delivery is schedule for the third quarter of this year.

The high efficiency hot blast valves, which are a proprietary Woodings design, will have refractory lined bodies and water-cooled discs and seats.

Several valves in this order will be utilized in the waste gas heat recovery system, which will help raise the fuel efficiency of the furnace, reduce operating costs for AMK, and reduce emissions.

The valves will be installed on AMK’s 4,000 cubic meter furnace.

Alchevsk Metallurgical Works (AMK) is located in Eastern Ukraine and is owned by the Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), the largest steel producer in the Ukraine.
