WOODINGS GUN & DRILL UP AND RUNNING IN SERBIA
A large Serbia-based steel producer has successfully started up its Blast Furnace on December 15th, after completing an extensive rebuild which incorporated a fully hydraulic gun and drill designed and built by Woodings Industrial Corporation.
The new gun and drill—which are performing well—provide the steelmaker with completely automated plugging and tapping. More predictable results, reduced labor cost and greater efficiency are among the primary benefits of this new equipment.
Designed, engineered and manufactured by Woodings, the gun is built for a 4,100 psi hydraulic operating pressure, a nozzle pressure of 3,000 psi, and features a high-performance hydraulic system with PLC control.
The drill, also designed and manufactured by Woodings, incorporates a fully hydraulic drifter that is configured in a unique housing design. The Woodings all-hydraulic rotary percussion hammer is the strongest and most compact hammer available for blast furnace operation.
